Article 50. Personnel at the service of animal protection entities

1. Animal protection entities may have voluntary or hired personnel.

2. The relationship between volunteer staff and the animal protection entity will comply with the provisions of Law 45/2015, of October 14, on Volunteering, and will be regulated by means of a volunteer contract in which rights and obligations of both parties are set out, without, in any case, being able to mediate any compensation.

The training of volunteer personnel for contact with animals must be given by the person in charge of training of the animal protection entity.

3. Personnel hired by others must comply with the provisions contained in the labour and Social Security regulations, especially in the consolidated text of the Workers’ Statute Law, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23 ; in the revised text of the General Social Security Law, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 8/2015, of October 30; in Law 31/1995, of November 8, and in its implementing regulations. Personnel hired by an animal protection entity who will have contact with animals must meet the qualification requirements set forth in article 35.
